Cutting and Sticking.

Drawing with paper workshop ,using drawings and photos from our Poole trip. Quite enjoyed this but i wasnt particularly pleased with my final result, i think on some occasions i need to stop being so meticulous with all my work as i think i would of got a more successful result if i hadnt focused so much on little details. but over all interesting day,got introduced to the work of rob ryan which i really like, again it is very detailed which i seem to be drawn to but i like the way they are made of only one sheet of paper.

Down the yellow brick road to.... Poole.

Freezing cold! I managed to get some sketches done, really enjoyed drawing from life but also got some photos that I am going to work into and take some more sketches from. Went and sat in the record library for a bit to warm up and got some interesting sketches, people reading and the rows and rows of books. Id quite like to live in a library.

Draw me a picture.

Work shops and introduction to our new project, TEXT AND IMAGE.
I am loving the fact that the first project seems mainly illustration based. I am looking forward to learning lots of new techniques and materials to work with it will be nice to start with something that I no my way around slighty.

Once Upon A Time...

Met the tutors and the rest of the course. So far we’ve had a week of inductions and a general explanation of the course. Looking forward to getting on with some work, although I enjoyed doing small work over the summer I much rather enjoy having a brief to work to and a deadline. Even if it does mean leaving it all to the last minute!

We had a small project to do over the summer. First critique on Friday, eeek!

Critique went well, was interesting to see everyone’s work, all very different. I was pleased with my final outcome, but I can imagine they will be a bit tougher on us the course progresses
